Building "Hyype", Punks are going to Hollywood🎥

Punks are going to Hollywood. Larva Labs has signed with United Talent Agency to represent them across film, TV, video games, publishing, and licensing. Not surprising if you think that only Punks have a trading volume of over a billion USD and are valued at more than $3 billion. UTA will be representing all their projects, including Autoglyphs and Meebits. Contrary to most projects which give intellectual rights of NFTs to owners, Larva Labs own the IP rights to Punks.
For Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, the most surprising use case is NFTs.

Sotheby’s is auctioning 101 Apes and 101 Kennels between 2-9 September. Check out this funny -but cool- promo they shared. In addition, here are the mints coming to Christie’s on October 1st. Follow the auction on Sotheby’s website.
OpenSea reached $3 billion in trading volume in August, according to Dune Analytics. Meanwhile, Uniswap V3 did almost 16x of that, with 35.9B trading volume.
Chromie squiggle floor is 15 ETH.
Loot, a project that consists of white text on top of a black background - and nothing else - surged in value this week. It was first introduced with a tweet as ‘randomized adventurer gear’ and intentionally made that way for holders to interpret and build upon. Here is a thread exploring the phenomenon. Community is already building on top of it. The floor price was 9.5 ETH three days ago… It’s at 13 ETH now. The rarest Loot bag sold for 199.99 ETH.😳
If you’d like to participate, but Loot floor is too high for you (it is for me), the creator, Dom Hofmann, dropped another claimable Loot contract. Seeing how much hype is around Loot, and how much is being built in that world with 2.5K owners, the creator didn’t want everybody else to be left out. By going here, you can ‘claim’ a Loot bag by trying a number that nobody claimed before. There are over 1.3 million ‘More Loots’ to claim, but not all at once! It has a dynamic supply, meaning probably 250,000 additional can be minted each year.
PleasrDAO is fractionalizing the Doge NFT into billions of pieces so anybody can own a part of it.
If you participated in the $WRITE race, you are eligible to claim an NFT from HEROES. The project is styled on Loot, and it gives randomized pen names and character identities.
Apes get their own auction house, APES.HOUSE, built with Zora.
Lobby Lobsters sold out within a couple of hours yesterday. All profits go to lobbying efforts for crypto in DC. They have already raised $4 million.
Nifty Gateway is changing its shape a bit; now they will have their curated drops as usual, but also projects that originated outside of the Nifty realm — “verified NFT projects.”
An NFT appeared on Banksy’s website with a link to an Opensea auction, then sold for $338,000. The website was hacked, and the NFT was fake. The buyer was Pranksy, and the scammer later returned the funds.
In a previous issue, I mentioned that Shoyu was coming (from SushiSwap), an NFT platform that focused on artists’ and creators’ needs. They are designing with Japanese sensibility and aesthetic in mind, and while the project is not launched yet, their website did!
You can mint a color palette — on-chain, randomly generated! Use it as a data source for generative art, games, websites… So basically, whatever you want! Only 9900 are available, and you can mint through their website.
Gutter Gang passes $16 million in trading with Gutter Pass, which is a “buy now collect later” voucher for the third and fourth Gutter Species.

Loot meets the metaverse - the idea works perfectly with the metaverse, so not surprised. With lootmart, you can unbundle your Loot Bag into individual ERC 1155 Loot items and trade those items to upgrade your adventurer.
Yearn Finance issued a grant to build a 2d pixel metaverse: Atlantis World.

Audius, the decentralized music streaming platform that came into the spotlight after its deal with TikTok, now allows users to display their NFTs owned on Solana.

Axie Infinity generated over $1.7 billion in total sales volume.
⚽️ Sports
Tennis champion Naomi Osaka is thinking of investing in cryptocurrencies, as Dogecoin got her interest. She already has a series of NFTs on DraftKings Marketplace and Autograph.io.
🎥 Movies
Film director Jim Cummings is auctioning his personal copy of the script for Thunder Road as an NFT on Opensea, filled with coffee stains and scribbled notes. He said, "I just thought, I haven't seen anybody really do this inside of the feature film space yet. I have this thing sitting in my apartment that is incredible; looking through it, it has all of these handwritten notes of like, my stupid half ideas that ended up in the movie. I was like, 'Oh, this can be a cool thing. I see this kind of shit at Sotheby's all the time. Why don't I try and share it at an auction, and then have it help to finance some of our movies, or some of my friends' movies?'"
🔥 What else is hot?
Twitter will allow users to add Bitcoin and Ethereum wallet addresses to their profiles.
Trader launched, an easy way to trade NFTs with friends. There are no platform fees and low gas fees.
Hyype is building a social network for NFT collectors, and last week they announced their $1.5 million seed round from Electric Capital.
Cryptocurrency hedge fund Three Arrows Capital launched ‘Starry Night Capital,’ a fund that is focused on buying and collecting NFTs.
