The group behind ENS, True Domains Limited has ended its contract with web3 influencer Brently Millegan, or better known as brently.eth due to his earlier tweets writing, “homosexuality acts are evil, abortion is murder,” etc. I, of course, am a big ally to the LGBTQ+ community and very clearly believe abortion is a right; however, I’m not the biggest fan of cancel culture. His bio starts with ‘catholic,’ so he wasn’t really trying to hide anything. Yes, Web3 must be inclusive and mustn’t make the same mistakes as other parts of our society, but let’s face the fact that so many people do hold these opinions. Pushing them further and not having a decent conversation about it makes it worse. In the age of polarization (thanks, web2) - I believe that if Brantly meets a trans person or listens to the experience of someone who had an abortion, that would have a much better impact.
